Windows 10: 0x80072efd when synching email

Just upgraded my dad's PC and get this error

Windows update works fine, we've applied all the upgrades, which is what all the search results trace the problem to

Everything else seems to work - I've put the mail.btinternet.com address in the mail server settings, it's remembered his username from before the upgrade

Running AVast and Windows Firewall is on

Any ideas?

error code: 0x80072efd when trying to synch windows 10 mail to our company's microsoft exchange account

I was able to successfully add my email to the windows 10 mail, but when I tried to synch the inbox this error code:0x80072efd appeared. I tried the internet connection troubleshooter, but it did not help. How can I resolve this issue so that I'll be able
to use the windows 10 mail?
