Windows 10: 0x80096004

Hey there,


i just build a new PC and tried updating windows but all i get is Error 0x80096004.


I already uninstalled Avast and ran scf /scannow but without effect.


I also downloaded the update via the windwos catalog but it just said the update couldnt be installed after restarting and i should try again.


Any tips i havent tried?

Fix update error 0x80096004


As a Windows Insider, update version 17046.1000 is shown as available, but every attempt to download gets the same error message: 0x80096004.

Have tried numerous fixes including MS update repair, registry repair, etc, etc.

Any suggestions which do NOT include using system restore, or a paid repair app?

errormessage 0x80096004 ? for xp service pack 3

trying to upgrade to windows 10, 1903 from win 10 1803, receive fail attempt and error codes 0x80070002 and for XP SP 3 -- 0x80096004 (?) any suggestions ?
