Windows 10: 0x80240017 - Unspecified Error in Microsoft visual c++ 2015 installing

Windows 8Version 6.3 Build 9600My windows is up to date. I have installed important and optional updates.But still this program did not install. I need this because of Adobe Illustrator.Please help! Visual C++ 2015 Redistibutable (x64) 14.0.23026 error 0x80240017 - Windows 10

Whenever I try to install Visual C++ 2015 Redistibutable (x64), which I need for a particular program, I am met with the error "Setup Failed" and the code 0x80240017 - Unspecified error. I am running windows 10 64 bit os. Here is a link to the log file I

Microsoft visual c++ 2015 error when running steam games

When i launch a steam game that needs to install visual c++ i get this error



If i hit ok i get this error



Ive gone through my program list and uninstalled all of the microsoft visual C++ programs listed, and reinstalled them but i still get the error.

I suggest you to uninstall any existing Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package and install the latest Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package to check if it helps.

Follow the below steps:

Step 1: Uninstall the exiting Microsoft Visual C++.

a) Press Windows key + x key and select
Programs and Features.

b) Right click on the Microsoft Visual C++ and uninstall it.

Step 2: Download the latest Microsoft Visual C++ and install it.
