Windows 10: 0x80242016 after installing the Windows 10 updates. Help...

Hello , fellas.


so, after reboot from installing Windows 10 v1809 December quality updates, Windows shows me this error code in update history and it says installing failed. But if I check the installed updates in control panel, this update is already there. Plus after the error, when I click check for updates button, it runs normally without any problems, it even installed several definition updates for windows defender. But that quality updates never shown, How weird.


I did a little bit research, looks like 0x80242016 stands for WU_E_UH_POSTREBOOTUNEXPECTEDSTATE The state of the update after its post-reboot operation has completed is unexpectedly.

which confusing me even more, I just did a completely clean install windows 10 and checking the updates is the 2nd move for me after windows install the drives automatically. How possibly could It be error.

To make sure the healthy environment, I run the troubleshooter for Windows update, checked the disk [chkdsk], quick scan using windows defender, browsing the web like about 2 hours. All pretty smooth and normally. No fatal error, No reboot forcibly, No BSOD. Performance looking great.


So...


Since this is not my personal device. I want to make 100% sure that this is not a problem, at least doesn't have any bad influence to the future.

What do you think in this situation about this error code?

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

 

Error with update for windows 10 0x80242016

I have installed windows 10 1903 by clean way and tried update operating system, but after all windows updates i have checked the update list and seen that pic



but it turned out already have installed that update in "installed updates"



So the main question is "do i need reinstall that update or it installed correct and everything is okay?"

It's basically what I mentioned above, small issues here and there ,but nothing to end your day.. for the most part.

I know it's anecdotal, but for my experience 95% of the time it's perfectly fine. The issues I've run into wouldn't be enough for me to roll back , but they would be enough (had I not installed it yet) ,to avoid it for another couple weeks which is why I'm suggesting it to the OP
