0xc0000017 BSOD Loop after Driver Verifier [IMG]After I have been getting blue screens for the past year on this desktop I had finally gotten sick of it and decided to run driver verifier because I looked up the solutions to those BSOD’s. After I did this I got the BSOD that said driver verifier detected violation and since that I have been getting the one in the picture. I changed my ram sticks to new ones and tried running commands in the command prompt but none worked. After this I tried to reset the PC but it wouldn’t let me do that. I even tried to reinstall windows and it didn’t let me do that either. If I could get any help for this that would be much appreciated because finals week is coming up.

    :)

    0xc0000017 BSOD Boot error

    Hello members,

    Some background:
I upgraded my window 8 system to win 10 a few years ago. I only have the win 8 DVD installation disk since the win 10 upgrade was done through Windows update.

For the most part things have been okay until today. On boot up I got a 0xc0000017 error message. It provides me two options:

    1. to hit enter and boot again (doing so brings me back to the bsod 0xc0000017 screen)
    2. To press F8 which provides me a series of 8 or 9 boot options via the number or function keys. (Pressing F8 and any of the 8 or 9 options brings me back to the 0xc0000017 bsod)

In short I'm in a bsod loop.

I did try booting from the win 8 installation disk, but same result. Brings me back to the bsod error.

It seems I may need to run the bcdedit from the command line to fix the original error. Booting to the command prompt is one of the F8 options, but as I mentioned above, any of the f8 options just brings me back to the bsod.

It seems the only option left is to borrow my sister's laptop and try downloading a win 10 recovery file on to a thumb drive and try booting from the thumb drive to a command prompt to run bcdedit.

Seeking any other suggestions from the forum members. Thank you for you time and thoughts.

    George

Stuck in Driver Verifier Detection Violation loop

As per someones advice on this forum, I had enabled Driver Verifier to potentially fix a BSOD, i am now stuck in a BSOD loop

I would appreciate anyones help as since enabling Driver Verifier i have not been able to log in

NONE of the troubleshoot options from windows recovery are working - have tried all of them, all failing at some point or the other

Command Prompt does not execute the driver verifier reset to any success

I have RESET windows (kept personal files) and upon restart was still stuck in BSOD loop

i am able to reach log in screen in safe mode, but my password and pin do not work, so still unable to log in. only option from this point is to shutdown or restart

With all information above taken into account - does anybody have any advice on how to DISABLE driver verifier, where all perviously suggested methods have no worked?

Any help much appreciated thank you
