0xC004F211 error after BIOS Update - New Hardware Reactivation instructions not working

So via searching I found a few help questions around I tried to follow the steps listed and still am not able to reactivate Windows 11 Pro after a BIOS update. Gigabiyte BIOS update from 2023 to 2024 to handle the intel 13900k problem, which I thought had already been updated, but hadn't, so I did. Steps:1. Went to Windows Activation - Used Troubleshooter - "We weren't able to activate Windows on this Device."1A. "Contact Support to Get Help" Link does NOTHING. 1B. "I changed hardware on this device recently" returns "We can't reactivate Windows right now. Try again later." with no additio

Windows reported that the hardware of your device has changed. Error code: 0xC004F211 after BIOS update on Gigabyte Z790 Motherboard

    Hi
I am getting the dreaded "Windows reported that the hardware of your device has changed. Error code: 0xC004F211" error after updating the BIOS on a Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Elite AX motherboard.

I have tried various possible fixes such as those discussed in this

    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us...s-update/9df9d573-b006-4cf7-b7aa-a90fc82e5424

    and

    https://www.reddit.com/r/Windows11/comments/16vm5ie/updated_bios_and_now_my_win_11_is_deactivated/

    https://www.reddit.com/r/techsupport/comments/zsxwh7/lost_my_windows_10_activation_after_bios_update/

Without any success. Not I have not reinstalled windows and I do not want to go down that path. Nor do I want to have to buy a new key.

Any suggestions on how I can get this resolved ?

And are there any permeant fixes to this problem in the pipeline as it seems to be a common issue ?

    Thanks in advance

Reactivating Windows 10 after Hardware Change

    Greetings everybody,

I changed the hardware (motherboard, CPU, GPU, RAM) of my PC and I cannot reactivate my WIN 10 now.

I had WIN 7 retail version before and I upgraded it during the free upgrade to WIN 10 years ago. Before I changed my hardware, I linked my WIndows licence to my windows account so I could reactivate it after the change, but it does not work.

In the activation page in the settings, it shows the error code 0xC004F211, which shows that the hardware has changed. I followed the instructions of https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/20530/windows-10-reactivating-after-hardware-change,
so I did the troubleshooting and then selected "I changed hardware on this device recently" and then selected the device I am using and click on activate, but this does not work. I only get the "We can’t reactivate Windows
on this device. Try again later. " message.

Any suggestions what I can do to activate my licence?

    Thanks in advance

  4. 0xC004F211 error after BIOS Update - New Hardware Reactivation instructions not working

    Windows Activation error 0xC004F211

    Hello, Raphael Vilamiu

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I’m sorry to hear that you’re having trouble activating your Windows 11 after updating your BIOS. This error code 0xC004F211 means that some hardware on your computer has changed and Windows can’t verify your license. You can learn more about Windows activation errors here: Get help with Windows activation errors - Microsoft Support

There are a few possible solutions you can try:

    • Access the hardware change exception path: Microsoft provides an exception path for transferring a Windows License after a hardware change. You’ll need to be signed in to the same Microsoft account before making the hardware change and to use the exception path. To access this exception path, select Windows Settings > System > Activation , and then select Troubleshoot. If the troubleshooter can’t resolve the issue, you’ll see a link to reactivate after a hardware change. Select it to follow this path. For more info, see Reactivating Windows after a hardware change.
If none of these methods work, you may need to contact Microsoft support for further assistance: Contact Us - Microsoft Support

Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.

    Best regards
