  2. 0xc00d36b4 Error After Upgading to Windows 10

I also see video files for a split second before getting the 0xc00d36b4 error. YouTube and facebook video plays just fine. But all video files on my hard drive refuse to play. Doesn't matter if they are *.mp4 *.mov or *.avi

  3. 0xc00d36b4 Missing CODEC. .MOV camcorder videos will not show the video, just sound

At some point in the past all of my camcorder .MOV videos have stopped playing. I get sound but no video.

I get an error: Missing codec. Choose something else to play. This item is in a format we don't support. 0xc00d36b4 Send feedback.

In searching for help there is so much gibberish given I have no clue as to what to do. It is way too complicated for me. Please give me a simple, understandable, step by step way to solve this. Nothing confusing please! No tech speak! No links to click
on due to fear of viruses. I hope you can easily solve this for me. Thank you.

Media will not play after upgrading to Windows 10

After upgrading to Windows 10 audio files will not play in Media Player, Groove Music, VLC, iTunes, or Amazon Music. Videos play without sound.

    • Groove Music gives message "This item is in a format we don't support" with code 0xc00d36b4 (0xc00d36b4) for .mp3 and .wma files. (have not yet tried other formats)
    • MP3 will play in Audacity.
    • When playing video in Media Player or Movies & TV get video but not audio.
    • Do get sound with video when streaming on YouTube.
    • System sounds work fine, get sound with Skype
    • Checked sound configuration and sounds play in all tests.
    • Tried clean boot, but did not solve problem.
Getting frustrated to say the least. Any suggestions?
