Nah, we don't want Media Player to leave because people don't like the metro version plus they can ALWAYS rely on media player whenever it comes to music or videos so keep going WMP! *Thumbs

Right, I know that. But there is the problem. The Settings screens do not come in high contrast and are unreadable if you have a high contrast theme. The Control Panel screens do come in high contrast though.

Wasn't there news that the Media Center would be sold separately.

As to Media Center I never really used it or cared for it. I started using the Modern version of WMP about a month ago, and find it really not all that bad. It loaded up all the music placed in the music folder once it was pointed to that folder. As to WMP I haven't used it since gong to the Modern version.

I use Kodi (formerly known as XBMC) as my media centre, and haven't looked back since, but I think it's not enough for some people and it's something related about recording TV streams or something like that.

I have some problems with that list:

    The Start screen
    Full-screen Metro apps
These two are still available on smaller devices, or by switching to touch mode. Additionally the windows can all be easily maximised.

    The two-headed Internet Explorer
    Windows RT
These two were stop-gap measures that have been reanalyzed and replaced. RT would always have compatibility problems, and Spartan will be replacing IE, with Windoww 10's IE being a stripped down placeholder

    The Charms menu
    Corner-based navigation
Admittedly these two are a bit of a loss, but Windows 10 is still a Technical Preview and things may change.

    Windows Media Center
This was disabled in Windows 8 unless you paid for Pro and more, so technically Windows 8 didn't have it either

    From SkyDrive to OneDrive
This was a name change due to legal issues, and Windows 8 also uses Onedrive also so the point is moot

    The People hub
    Share contracts
I don't know much about these two things; I never used them.

Overall there are maybe a couple decent points; but there's a lot where it seems that the author, to put it nicely, is misinformed about the current and past state of that feature.
