Windows 10: 10122 esd location

Discus and support 10122 esd location in Windows 10 Installation and Upgrade to solve the problem; Is the .esd for build 10122 still @ C:/recoveryimage/install.esd?     Is the .esd for build 10122 still @ C:/recoveryimage/install.esd? It has a 4/28/15 date with the same memory size 2,490,323 kb? as last build.

    Windows 10 create your own installation media

    You will need to decrypt the Windows 10 ESD file which is located w/in the following folder

    C:\$Windows.~BT\Sources\Install.esd

    upon your hard disk & convert it from an esd file back in to an ISO file using an ESD to ISO decrypter for your Windows 10 installation which can be saved to a safe place upon your PC!

    What is ESD Folder?

    Hi,

    There is one folder on my PC called "ESD", which is at This PC > Local Disk (C10122 esd location :) > ESD location. It is empty folder now. If it is not important I want to delete it.

    Can you explain what it's exact name and what it does?

    It's in a hidden folder, as least it was for me. This is where I found it per the tutorial:

    Notice please: the folder C:\RecoveryImage is the default location of Windows 10 TP install.esd file if you installed the upgrade. If you have moved the file in another location or you have downloaded the installation files but not upgraded yet or if the upgrade has failed, you'll might find the install.esd file in a hidden folder C:\$Windows.~BT\Sources​.

    Enable hidden files and that will show up in C. You'll find it in the sources folder. Also note that my upgrade succeeded and it still was in the hidden folder.

    Thanks Brink. I did notice the creation of this folder during the install C:\$Windows.~BT\Sources​. but it disappeared after I believe the second reboot. In File Explorer, I went to view, show/hide and checked "hidden files & file name extensions" did a search, (*.esd) it only found one instance that I mentioned in my OP. dtd 4/28/15 2.49 Gb. I think this is build 10074? So puzzled why the old one is still there and the new one has yet to be found. I had no interaction with the pc during download/install with the exception of 1 restart now request that would put the .esd file in another location.

    You only have a limited time to grab the ESD - while the screen says "Preparing to install" - after that, the ESD is gone from the $BT folder.
    There's enough time to copy it IF you start the copy soon after the 'prepare' phase begins.

    I think I tried to convert the ESD in recovery, but the ISO created would not install - dunno why.

    OK, that explains it. There is a text file in the folder where the .esd file is on my computer. I opened it and it said ~ver 10061 but was dated 4/28. So when the iso is made available, will clear out all this stuff. I still thought there was an .esd made for the ImageRecovery folder.

    That caught me out as well. Couldn't find the esd file for 10122, either.

    I found the procedure to convert INSTALL.ESD to an ISO. I found the file and downloaded the script to do the conversion. At the end of the procedure Windows crashed with a MEMORY_MANAGEMENT error message. I have the ISO file named en_windows_10_pro_10122_x64_dvd.iso. It appears to be intact. I can mount it and browse the content. I have the CSHA1 value for the file: EFD215FAD1453C8B290B33DBA2CA2956CDE84B7D.
    Does anyone know if this is correct or where I can find the official CSHA1 value?
