Windows 10: 10122 won't install on my USB external HD

I have a WD Passport drive which I managed to install Build 10074. Everything works great. The upgrade to 10122 downloaded but stopped short of the full install with an error message that can't install on a USB drive. What?? Its already on a USB drive. Any ideas?

Tried to find the ISO download and would start over with that but looks like the only way in fast ring up date.

Copying a file from external disk locks windows explorer

I have a HD "My Passport" 1TB USB external drive. When I try to copy a file onto my Acer Aspire E1 the progress window stops and Window Explorer won't respond to any other mouse/board action. It eventually clears itself but does the same if I repeat the
copy. The HD light remains on. The external disk works fine with other laptops. Any ideas?

 

Win 10 won't update or reset computer

Hi,

My HP Envy with Win10 won't update any drivers, or windows updates. "Update registry database corrupt" or some such thing. I ran the update troubleshooter, fixed a few things, but still nothing. Computer says it is installing updates, but on restart
it won't complete the update and then undoes changes. Card reader doesn't work, USB devices (e.g., external HD) don't work.

I tried just resetting the the computer, but that doesn't complete either.

 

No ISO released but MS did release the ESD files that you can create a ISO from.

Download Windows 10 Build 10122 ESD
Then use the ESDtoISO tool to create a ISO file from which you can burn a DVD or make a installable flash drive.

How to Create Bootable ISO from Windows 10 install.esd File

 

That is not a Microsoft site by the way. Those are likely ESD files somebody saved while doing the online upgrade. Just a heads up.
