Windows 10: 10240 won't install

I have a previous thread with the 10166 build HTML Code: Windows 10 Help Forums Now as the 10240 build has been released I'm getting the same error as before.
I've also tried deleting all drivers, but I still cannot upgrade.

• Disable (preferrably uninstall) your Antivirus utility before attempting the upgrade.
• Disable General USB Devices (example - Smart Card Reader).
• Do a clean boot and try again.
• If you are upgrading using the .ISO file, disconnect from the Internet during setup, if you are connected by LAN (Ethernet) or Wi-Fi, disable both and attempt setup again.
• If you are updating through Windows Update, when the download reaches 100% disconnect from the Internet LAN (Ethernet) or Wi-Fi and proceed with the installation.
• If that does not work, try using the .ISO file to upgrade if possible.
• If you are connected to a domain, switch to a local account
• If you have any external devices attached to the machine, disconnect them (example, USB keys, external hard disk, printers, non-essential devices).

update 10240 won't install

download build 10240 will not install. error msg " you can't install windows on a usb flash drive." I am not using a flash drive. it's a standard WD 500 gb HD. Can anyone help me please?

 

Sometimes, you just have to nuke the whole thing. It's the only way to be sure.

I always prefer clean installs myself. I upgraded someone else's PC the other day (from 8.1 to 10) and it was slow and buggy. I backed up all his stuff and then formatted his drive and did a clean install. It now runs fast and smooth. You should do the same. People find it daunting, but honestly, it doesn't take long to reinstall a few programs.
