1440p/120hz no longer supported by display/gpu

Yesterday and the day before i had my desktop plugged into my tv through HDMI, and set the resolution to 1440p/120hz, worked great.

Turn the desktop on today, and its still set to 1440p, but set to 250% scaling and 30hz instead of 150%scaling and 120hz. Nothing about my set up has changed.

Ive tried updating drivers for both the display and the gpu, neither seemed to change anything. There are still resolutions that DO go to 120hz, but loterally just yesterday the machine was doing 1440p/120hz and now it just.... isnt. Ive even tried plugging it in to a different display and it reads it just fine. But the TV seems to be reluctant to show the settings i had yesterday

using a samsung NU8500 tv, and gpu is a gtx 1660 super.

    :)

W10 Fullscreen Gaming at 1440p/120Hz problem

    Hello
I have W10 PC and 4k display. It natively supports 1440p/120Hz freesync.
If i change resolution to 1440p, desktop changes to 1440p and upscaling to 4k/60Hz
Then i manually change refresh rate to 120Hz and its fine... This is working for desktop and borderless games. Games without borderless or refreshrate option are stuck at 60Hz with upscaling. If i run it windowed and modifiy borders FreeSync doesnt work. Display doesnt even support 1440p/60hz.

Any fix for this ? Anyway to make 120hz preffered or only res for 1440p ?

    Thanks very much.

No display signal in Windows at 144hz

    Hello,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand that you are using a monitor that supports 144Hz, however you getting black screen after the sign in page.

As per the information provided by you, I have checked that the monitor supports 144Hz. However, the Sapphire RX 570 graphics card that you are using supports only up to 120Hz using the display ports. Please refer the graphic card
    specification by clicking on
    Sapphire RX 570
    .

I suggest you to set the refresh rate for the monitor at 120Hz and check the result.

Follow these steps to change the refresh rate of the monitor.

    1. Press Windows key + I.
      This will open Settings.
    2. Click on System.
    3. Click on Display.
    4. Click on Advanced display settings.
    5. Click on Display adapter properties for Samsung monitor.
    6. Click on Monitor tab.
    7. Under Monitor Settings, use the drop-down menu to select the refresh rate and change it to 120Hz.
    8. Click on Apply button.
    9. Click on OK button.

    Hope it helps.

1440P or 4K: I use a full hd 27 inch monitor but I fancy something a little sharper. Is 4K worth it for office and web browsing or would the 1440P be more suitable? I would be limited to 27-28 size. An IPS panel or equivalent would help the sharpness. 44074
