  1. 16GB in BIOS and CPU-Z but 8GB task manager

I just installed 16GB RAM and Windows shows 8GB. None of my memory is hardware reserved but before I updated Windows to the current version it did show half of it was reserved. I've enabled XMP profile 1 and followed all the instructions in this video both before and after I updated Windows with no luck: https://youtu.be/oFK2eB51_Ss (swapped the ram (which are in slots 2 and 4), went into the regedit, and changed things in msconfig).

    Specs:

    Ryzen 5 2600x 1070 Zotac Mini B450m DS3H WiFi Gigabyte Team Group T-force DarkZ 3200 mhz 2x8GB Enermax 750w Revolution XT

My last thought is maybe I just got a bad board and need to send this one back to Amazon.

    Trying to upgrade from 8GB to 16GB - won't boot at 16GB

Here are the screenshots (hmmm... the original RAM was also Kingston - I missed that):

8gb out of 16gb of my ram is Usable?

    I checked. The OP's RAM is Crucial 16GB Kit (2 x 8GB) DDR3L-1600 UDIMM CT7347625 | 760GMA-P34 (FX) | Crucial.com, which is a kit Crucial recommends for his motherboard.

I'm at a loss to explain why CPU-Z lists the RAM as single channel. It ought to be dual, if the CPU/motherboard are functioning properly.

My own systems are AMD at the moment, but they are Socket AM4 rather than AM3+. At the level at which I play with the BIOS settings, they aren't significantly different from the Intel boards I've used in the past.

8gb out of 16gb of my ram is Usable?

If you don't have already, go get a copy of CPUz and install/run. I was reading that others had this issue and it was showing that the mem was in single channel mode, not dual mode. That's a setting in BIOS/UEFI to enable Dual Mode. Since you just swapped your CPU, it may not be set to Dual. Easy check to rule this out.

    CPU-Z | Softwares | CPUID

I have 2 sticks of 16GB, and I show Dual and 32GB available.

Only Accessing 8gb of 16gb RAM?: TL;DR: I have a full 16gb RAM installed, but Windows only ever seems to use 8gb of it. Why? I've filled up all 4 DIMMs with some memory - 4gb per.
