Windows 10: 1809 update to 1909/2004 failederror code: 0x80004005 - 0x60016

OS version: Windows10 Home 1809


I used Windows update, MediaCreationTool1909, ISO file and USB install for updating to 1909 but all failed. Then I switched to Insider Preview and tried to update to 2004 but still failed.

How To Fix 0x80004005 Error?

Error 0x80004005 in Win10 1909 update

My current Win10 Home version is 1803. I have been trying to update to 1909, yet it never worked. (error code 0x80004005)

I already ran the troubleshoot a few times and also tried the method "Rename win update folders" as indicated on this page (Error 0x80004005 Window 10 update Failure)

But I still can't update my system. It usually ends in the installation at about 80% or 90%.

Could anyone offer some possible solutions to this problem? Thanks in advance!

 

Windows 10 1903 1909 repeated failure to update

Well would't you know it. I did everything, every step, all the suggestions, months of failed downloads and was going to wipe everything tomorrow and start again, but remembered I hadn't tried your suggestion of updating to 1809 before 1903/09, and blow
me down, but it's updated to 1809 with ease!

I have yet to dare to try and get it to update to 1909 but it's the 1st progress in months, so thanks.
