MediaCreationToolx64.exe and Windows 10 ISO setup.exe will not run

Thanks for your reply Jesinta. I've gone through the process suggested.

    • The PC is running a 64-bit version of Windows 7 Home Premium SP1.
    • There is 108GB free on a 500GB drive.
    • I re-downloaded the MediaCreationToolx64.exe and another Windows 10 ISO. I then created a DVD and a USB with the ISO for use after the Clean Boot.
    • I then performed a Clean Boot as described in the article mentioned.
    • On clicking the Media Creation Tool I get no response from Windows at all.
    • On running the DVD Media created from the ISO I get a small Windows banner on the screen for a couple of seconds and then it disappears and nothing happens.
    • I have also selected the setup.exe file and run as administrator but again, small Windows banner and then nothing.
    • Tried the same thing from the USB drive - same response as DVD: banner/no response.
    • Disconnected all non-essential peripheral/USB devices and ran through the steps from the start - same response.
As a thought, I tried to install 3rd party software, just to see if my system wasn't allowing any installations at all, but I was able to install Acrobat Reader DC without any issue. I have also been able to run the windows update without a hitch.

As I'm not getting any specific error response, I'm at a loss to know where to look next. Any other suggestions I might try?
