    1920x1080 is blurry on a 4K monitor

I recently bought a new laptop with a 4K display, which runs Windows 10. I had assumed the display wouldn't be an issue, but it has been in regards to how images show up with 200% zoom on so I can actually read things, so I thought I'd try to change my display resolution to 1920x1080. This is exactly half the size of 4K, which is 3840x2160 - so I assumed that 1 pixel would take up 4 pixels on my monitor. As it turns out, I was quickly proven wrong, as that resolution displays TERRIBLY on this monitor. Everything is blurry, as if it was upscaled using "bilinear" rather than "nearest neighbor" - which is not at all what I was hoping for.

So, my question here is relatively simple. Is it possible for Windows 10 to display 1920x1080 on a 4K monitor with crisp, clean pixels and no blur?

I am a pixel artist, and one can probably imagine that blur is exactly what I DON'T want when doing stuff like that. It seems like I can't escape it with this monitor, though - at 4K images display incorrectly on most programs, and at 1920x1080 EVERYTHING displays incorrectly. This isn't the most imperative issue ever, but I'd really love to find a solution for it, as I've been trying to tinker with this since I bought the laptop to no avail.

    :)

Windows 10 - Multiple screens of different dpi shows blurry text

    my setup:

    win10 with a 4k 27" monitor and two 24" 1920x1080 monitors.

windows suggested 150% dpi for the 4k and 100% for the others.

4k looks great but the 24" (with 100% dpi!) looks terrible. The text is all blurry.

i saw many similar issues but all let go of something. I can't do 100% in the 4k, it's too small, and I must do 100% in the small screens, otherwise it's too big.

got latest drivers for my GeForce GTX 970 and monitors.

what is happening. Is this a bug. If anything I would expect the big screen to be blurry but the smaller ones are.

    any suggestions for a solution?

    Thanks!

    Roy.

  3. 1080p Laptop Sceen to 4K Monitor

    Hi All,

I recently updated to a 4K Monitor which i have attached as a second display to my Alienware 1080P Laptop.

I have noticed at first setup that the 4K monitor has everything so small due to its DPI advantage but its unreadable.

If i change the resolution to 125% .. 150% the screen becomes blurry.

If i change the main display to my Monitor it becomes crystal clear at 150% but my laptop screen becomes blurry and zoomed in.

    any help would be great.

    Thanks

Dual Monitor Setup issues - 4k and 1080p combination

The issue is worse than it seems at first. I have a 4k display (200%) scaling and a 1080p display (100% scaling) and even office apps look blurry on the 1080p display. If I unplug the 4k display and reboot the problem goes away. I believe the problem is
present on all apps and is a system issue. It's been suggested that to get the 100% scaling everything on both monitors is generated at 200% and then the part on the 1080p display is downsampled to 100%, resulting in the poor quality.

As it is Windows 10 is almost unusable with a very different DPI dual monitor setup.
