Windows 10: 2 avatars

That is a workaround and not a solution. I am not convinced MS designed it that way (which makes it a bug for me). It looks cheap. My Win 8.1 should show the same thing after downloading the latest updates if MS is doing things that way now upon login.

I would rather see those 2 profile pics than manually type my password. *Smile It doesn't affect performance anyway.

I Don't get the 2 avatars with win8.1 just 10. I set them up both the same on install. You can actually install win 8.1 &10 without setting up an MS account. But I agree seeing 2 avatars requires nothing from me but entering a password no matter how simple is annoying. I suppose MS will fix this but I don't care much whether they do or not. I wouldn't purchase it unless they offer a "Dirt cheap" price for those of us who tested the thing.

Anyone seeing two log in avatars must have something else in common because I did not have that issue I booted many times in a out of win-10 without the issue :/

 

Are you using "control userpasswords2" or "netplwiz" to suppress the the need to enter a password?

I use a local account like in win-7
Guest account off only one admin account
Didn't ever have a Microsoft account linked to anything but the feedback app :/

I have confirmed the cause is using either "control userpasswords2" or "netplwiz" to setup auto logon will give you 2 avatar places. I guess Win10 doesn't like you doing this, big brother blue wants everybody to use passwords. My win 8.1 doesn't have this problem. Well I can easily live with it but I suspect this won't happen with the final product. As of now I don't fine 10 to be that much different from 8.1 to make me want to spend any amount of money to purchase it.

Yes I do use a password I don't live in a world where passwords are not a good idea to use *Wink

 

I don't use a password to log onto my computer, since in my home there is only my Wife of 50 years, our 3 cats of 2 years and myself. Since I trust my Wife and the cats are computer illiterate (more interested in chasing real bugs than computer bugs) I feel quite safe without a logon password. But, "ThrashZone" you don't have this problem because you do use a logon password.
