Windows 10: 2 USB ports do not detect my USB headset while one USB port does

Hello,

I have brought HP pavilion power 15 laptop. My msi DS502 headset is not detected by the 2 usb ports while it works perfectly fine in the 3rd one. Moreover, it receives the power from these 2 ports as the LED on the headset turns on when i plug it in these 2 ports. My External HDD works in all three ports. What could be the reason for it to not work and how can i solve the issue?

USB Port Oddities


Ok, let's see it with pictures step-by-step. First right-click on the USB device and select Update driver software:





Then select Browse my computer for driver software (LAST option) :





The select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer (LAST option) :





Then select the standard driver from the list and click next:





Click next/OK as required to complete installation. Repeat the steps for all Intel USB devices. Finally click on each USB root device and press DEL to delete it, reply YES when asked. After deleting all USB root devices restart the computer.

• If so, was it detected?
• Did you receive any error messages?

USB headset not detected

Hi Mike,

A couple of questions:

• Do other USB devices work on the same port? (Trying to determine if this is an issue with the device or your USB Controller)
• Does your PC have multiple USB ports? If so does your headset work on any of those other ports?
• What PC are you using?
• Have you tried the headset again on another system? Either Windows 10 or a previous version? Does it work there?
