Windows 10: 20 gb of my storage partition is missing now

I temporary booted fedora from my pendrive as I wanted to dual boot my system. I forgot to create a partition so I created one in the temporary boot. But it did not get created so I restarted my PC to create one in windows. but there "this pc" showed my drive to be 20 gb less than original. I checked my disk management it showed the original size of the disk but when I try to shrink it it shows 15 gb shrinkable and when I click okay it says the parameter is not valid. I am stressed about it now please can you help me out with this

Claim extra SkyDrive 20 GB storage as WP8 user?

I was told Micosoft was handing out an extra 20 GB in storage in an email in December.

But I received no such email.. Any specific conditions associated with this offer?

 

W7 Hard drive partition issue

to get rid of that 100 meg windows partition that setup creates for you on a new install on a blank hdd:

- press shift+f10 when on the partition management screen in setup <-- this opens a command prompt
- diskpart <-- start the windows command line partition management tool
- list disk <--- list the installed hdds in this computer for the next step
- select disk 0 <- might have to replace 0 with the number of the correct disk
- clean <-- this will erase all data on the disk you selected one step up- dont use the wrong disk!
- create partition primary <- creates a primary partition taking up all space on the drive, adjust the command if necessary
- exit, exit to exit diskpart and the command prompt
- click refresh in partition manager and select your newly created partition and install to that

 

Proper HDD partitioning for Win7 reistall

Partition the first 10-20% for the OS, that way it gets the fastest part of the disk. Put the rest as storage.
I would suggest a second disk for games, just so you get the best speeds possible.
