Windows 10: "2004" update 0xc0000225

I updated through windows update settings and then rebooted once it was complete. I am now getting this message windows\system32\winload.efi is missing. I don’t have a recovery cd or usb and non of the ”F” keys options work. Only retry. Please help me I’ll end up loosing everything on my computer.

0xc0000225 boot error

For some odd reason when I turned on my computer today, I was greeted with the error 0xc0000225 stating that my NLS files were corrupt/missing. I am Running Vista x64 and so far have tried the following:

Replace NLS files
Windows repair utility
Restored an old working registry backup
Tried booting with different ram configurations
Created new BCD / Boot
Chkdsk


Google suggests something about apci, but my gigabyte ud3p doesn't have such an option (already vista compatible) and it seems to only occur to people who are initially installing and not people who already have a working copy.

0xc0000225 means Windows cannot find the System Files used for booting. The causes may be the following things.

    The System files are corrupt.
    
  • 
    The disk File system has bad configuration.
    
  • 
    Hardware fault.
    

I suggest you to update all pending windows updates and try. Windows Anniversary updates will be released in waves and it would be available when the update gets released in that geographical location.

Suggest to create a bootable DVD and then try the update.
