    Hi,

    need help. Trying to get Mail app working on PC and although it accepts my account it just says not synced yet.

    Go to Windows update to try to get update and Windows update keeps trying to update Visual C++ and fails.

    Not at all impressed with Windows 10. And my Windows live mail has just stopped working.

    Help please. About to purchase several new computers and need convincing that I should stick with Windows.

    Service Packs fail to install Error 0x80070643

    Daily - I get these failures:

    • Security Update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package (KB2538243) -Error 0x80070643
    • Security Update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package (KB2565063) -Error 0x80070643

    Windows 10 is up to date with everything else. What is peculiar is that I downloaded both of these updates and ran them successfully. When I run them again I am asked whether I want to repair or delete. I chose repair and again it is successful.

    Why do they install manually and not via the updater?

    Why does the updater not know they are already installed?

    Windows 10 - Unable to get Windows updates to install

    My Windows updates are failing for various errors.

    I have tried automated fixing solution, and a couple of manual fixes posted for people with similar issues, with no joy.

    These are the updates and errors:

    • Security Update for Microsoft Silverlight (KB3080333) - Error 0x80070643

    • Security Update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package (KB2538243) - Error 0x80070643

    • Security Update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (KB2467173) - Error 0x80070643

    • Update for Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office Runtime (KB3001652) - Error 0x80070643

    • Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3081704) - Error 0x80070652

    Short of carrying out a system reset or rolling back to 7, i'm at a loss..
