    Hello all,


    I've run into a bit of confusion. So I'm in the process of converting a ton of old computers at my worksite from Windows 7 Pro to Windows 10 Pro. I've only done 3 computers so far, and during the first computer's installation I was prompted to put in a license key as expected. So I entered the license key that was purchased for the computer, and the installation went smoothly.


    Now here is the part I'm confused about: When I was doing the installation on the second computer it did not prompt me for a license key. So, I figured that I would need to put in the key after the installation to activate the OS. This wasn't the case, as when I checked the activation status in the settings after the installation was complete it said the computer was activated with a digital license. The third computer I installed Windows 10 Pro on was even older (purchased 2014) than the second one (purchased 2015) and that one also shows that it is activated with a digital license.


    The reason I'm confused is none of these computers originally had Windows 10 on them. They all came with Windows 7 Pro. Also, I know that the free upgrade to Windows 10 ended in 2016. I don't believe the previous IT tech had upgraded the computers before the free upgrade ended just to revert them back to Windows 7 either.


    I don't want these computers to be existing in some grey area, or in a bad place altogether, with Microsoft. I'm able to get all of the license keys needed for these computers. With that said, I don't want to be wasting the company's money if for some reason these computers are legitimately licensed.


    Sorry for the long explanation, I just wanted to cover as many things as I could. Ultimately, the question is why would these old computers be licensed for Windows 10 Pro when the first computer I did was not.

    QuickBooks Pro 2014

    Hello all!

    I just had to purchase a new computer since mine literally died 2014-2015 Computers Already Licensed Windows 10 Pro :( and the new one has windows 10. I cannot get my quickbooks pro 2014 to download. Anyone have any suggestions?
