Windows 10: 2018-10 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1803 fails. KB4462919. Error 0x80070002

Can't run updates on Windows 10 1803 at the moment. Keep getting the same response when I try.


2018-10 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1803 for x64-based Systems (KB4462919) - Error 0x80070002


Has a retry button. Keeps failing. Even after a restart.


Hoping to get some advice on how I might fix this.

wushowhide and group policy atm is the only surest way

 

2018-01 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1709 for x64-based Systems (KB4056892) - MS Surface 3

I have an MS Surface 3 (Not Pro) running Windows 10 Pro for Workstations, v1709 (Build 16299.15). When I search for updates, it wants to install 2018-01 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1709 for x64-based Systems (KB4056892). It fails with Error
0x80070002.

I tried manually downloading the Delta and Cumulative updates and installing manually, but they fail stating it is not for my system.

How can I either:

• Get this update to install, or
• If it is not compatible, tell Update to not install it and ignore the update?

I have tried:

• Clearing the SoftwareDistribution folders and Catroot2 several times
• Running the Windows Update troubleshooter
• Every step in troubleshooting including try to run the Media Creation Tool
• Factory reset, including deleting all files and apps

After the Factory reset, updates applied but it again failed on 2018-01 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1709 for x64-based Systems (KB4056892) with Error 0x80070002.

 

KB4338819 - 2018-07 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1803 for x64-based Systems (KB4338819) -Error 0x80070002

On June 13.2018, MS Update installed Version 1803, Build 17134.112 of Windows 10 Pro on my Desktop. All was fine.

Then, the "2018-07 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1803 for x64-based Systems (KB4338819) -Error 0x80070002" cumulative update started and has so far failed 16 times. It says the update is not for my PC - weird answer. I actually found a Delta
Update (MS Catalog) for the KB4338819 Update and the same thing happens.

I am really getting tired of MS Updates that fail horribly and then keep on trying and then on top of that tell me they are not for my Desktop. I am not running an atom processor if you are asking either.

I am sure I am not the only one with this problem.

I like MS products, but this thing keeps happening to often.

I cannot afford a new Desktop as I am on permanent disability so it is a crisis for me when this happens.

If I was not as proficient with PCs, the problem would be worse.
