Windows 10: 2020-09 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 KB4574727 - Error 0x80073701

I've tried installing this update multiple times. Windows Update downloads it, installs it to 100%, and then the update fails. I've looked over a lot of docs about resetting Windows Update using a shell script, but I'm wondering if there's a less invasive way to fix this issue. I've tried manually downloading and installing the update, that fails as well. The Update Troubleshooter reveals nothing.


The system is an X64 Virtual Machine under VMWare Fusion. Here's the system info:

OS Name Microsoft Windows 10 Pro
Version 10.0.18363 Build 18363
System Type x64-based PC

Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, were you able to fix it?
