Windows 10: 2021-02 W10 KB4601382 20H2 update - computer stuck as temp user

Hello,


This morning my computer ran this Feb. 24 update KB4601382, it also ran KB4577586 Flash removal, then it restarted rebooted and when it came up again the desktop looked like on a computer at a store and all users for TEAMS and some programs had disappeared, it prompted for Microsoft user log-in. Desktop has some program shortcuts but all files are gone. I can not see for example the Opera browser and overall setup of the computer is like from the box.

When looking under C: User I can see that my correct user folder contains my files but the computer is using the TEMP user where the Documents folder is empty.


I have windows 10 20H2 Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming, the Lenovo tool also installed:


Lenovo - System - 15.11.29.61 update this morning



AutoCad setup and license not working and more...

Saw solution for older updates, like restarting the computer few times, that has not worked. People talking about not moving any files or such while in this temporary state.

Currently taking backup of the user folders.

KB4601554 update and KB4601382 update

Anyone else get these updates today? "2021-02 Cumulative Update Preview for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8 for Windows 10, version 20H2 for x64 (KB4601554)". Also "2021-02 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows Version 20H2 for x64-based Systems (KB4601382).
Haven't seen them posted in the News here on this forum.

20H2 should not be installed right-away on your device - MS said the rollout is only to a fraction of users and would be labeled as an optional update initially. Are you enrolled in WIP?

You may uninstall 20H2 using the steps below:

Very slow booting and shutting down (tens of minutes)

Thanks dalchina, it isn't needed anymore. The issue is solved. I have uninstalled two updates:

• 2021-02 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 20H2 for x64-based Systems (KB4601319)
• 2021-02 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8 for Windows 10, version 20H2 for x64 (KB4601050)

and the problem disappeared.
