2nd Monitor Resolution is off even if configured at 1080p

Hello and good day. Hope someone can help me. I am new to win10, and am having a hard time adapting. Can’t believe I am having trouble on everything I used to do without any problems in win 7.

Currently I want to connect a Samsung TV to my hdmi output.

If the two displays are on at the same time, via clone or extend display, resolution on the Samsung Tv looks ok. When I try to just have signal on the Samsung TV (to watch a movie). Everything goes wack. Resolution looks like its on 800x600 or 720p (icons look big, bottom task bar looks big) even though the resolution is marked as 1080p on the display settings on the nvidia control panel. Native windows display setup can’t be changed when the 2nd monitor is just on, but can be changed when the two are displaying. If I clone display, it looks ok, if I try to close the lid on the laptop it goes into whack resolution mode. Its very frustrating. Any ideas?

  3. Monitor Resolution reset after system restart

    Hi there,

I just bought a new 4k Monitor and added it to my system as primary monitor with my 1080p monitor as secondary. The problem I face everyday is when is start my system, the monitor resolution is reset. Earlier it used to reset my 4K monitor to 1080p and when
I check settings: Display Settings --> Scale and Layout it say 'A Custom Scale factor is Set'. To resolve it I had to log out and log in. After logging back the resolutions are fine and the Display Settings --> Scale and Layout 'A Custom Scale factor is Set'
is not 200%. But now from yesterday my resolution of 1080p display is getting changed to 4k on system restart. Again I have to do the above steps mentioned to resolve it. This is really annoying, why does not Windows remember my 2 monitors resolution. It
would be really helpful if anyone can suggest the solution.

My system details if it helps to find solution:

OS - Windows 10 latest update

    Monitor 1 - LG 27UD68-B (set to 4K native)

    Monitor 2 - LG E2360V (set to 1080p native)

    Graphics Card - Nvidia GTX970

When I use an app in the 2nd monitor the resolution is fine. Just the desktop and the task bar resolution is too big on 2nd monitor.

Original Title: Desktop resolution - multiple monitors

When I use an app in the 2nd monitor the resolution is fine. Just the desktop and the task bar resolution is too big on 2nd monitor. Using Lenovo yoga 3 and 3.0 pro dock.

How do I adjust the desktop on 2nd monitor (extended)

1080p on a 4K monitor or 1080p?: If I get a 4K, I'd play 1080p on it before later upgrading GPU for 4K But I hear 1080p on 4K = blurry. Or is it one of those things like 'very high shadows' v 'high shadows' where you'd need to compare screenshots to see a difference and / or care?
