    this thread is a follow up to my problem i posted in late 2017 and I never saw the problem resolved, it was stated that future updates to 3D Builder will fix the problem but I've only seen it get worse and I've seen feedback of others having the same issue.


    the problem is that after a certain update (version 15 I believe) 3D Builder's contrast and lighting got really off, objects are now either far to bright making them all turn grey or so dark that you cant tell anything apart. all colors are whitewashed making it hard to see details and makes the quality of the visuals very poor and hard to work with. now with later updates I've seen when changing settings in the VIEW section such as, reflections, shadows, shading, exe the objects turn pitch black or grey. when the grid is disabled toggling the COLORS option has no effect the objects remain black if reflections is disabled. from my observations it seems that the reflection tool is to over powered and is dependent on the grid being visible, all objects seem to be brightened to much by the reflection of the grid and turn black if the grid is disabled. in previous versions (before late 2017 ) the colors were great and had no issues.


    I love using 3D Builder use it often to design and i really want to see the app improve. i appreciate that the Microsoft teams responsible for 3D Builder have always been quick and helpful in their responses.

    I suggest you to run the Windows Store Apps troubleshooter by following the steps below:

    • Type “Troubleshooting” in the search box and press Enter.
    • Click on ‘View All’ on the top left pane.
    • Click on “Windows Store Apps” from the list and follow the on-screen prompts for troubleshooting.
