4K60 signal to TV over HDMI problem

The cables with the BenQ 3200 are really short , apparently 6ft is not the same measurement everywhere *Smile

    your geforce post

    https://forums.geforce.com/default/t...lg-and-a-1070/

The 59/60 hz thing mentioned at Geforce is a windows thing and a known issue , it is in NV notes and they link to this M$ KB about it

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2006076

your pics here show it at native Res. however your Speccy pic shows it at the same res as the BenQ , which maybe why the TV doesn't see the signal ?

Did you clean out ALL AMD and Nvidia Drivers with DDU before installing the 1070 Card ? looks like something is messed up

The speccy pic is messed up a bit (my fault), because the setup wasn't exactly like it's supposed to be. The TV was physically connected but the display was disabled in Windows (show only on desktop x). I'm gonna take a new snapshot today and also do more extensive testing with different cables and motherboard's hdmi output.

I didn't have to clean AMD drivers as I installed Windows to a brand new SSD using an USB.

    Update (23th of August):

I went ahead and also contacted MS support phone (and got surprisingly friendly answers). I did a complete reset to the system (other reasons besides this, too). I'm in the process of updating windows. I'll then get the proper Nvidia drivers ands see if there's any luck connecting the TV.

Edit: MS support said that I should 1) try the non-AU version or 2) just wait as this is "still very new" for the manufacturers.

    Update (27th of August):

    1) After clean Windows 10 reset - not working, the basic driver doesn't recognize the TV on the GPU HDMI output.

    2) Tried installing previous Nvidia drivers, 368.something manually. Says it isn't compatible.

    3) Windows fails it's attempt to install "a GTX 1070" driver repeatedly. Computer is essentially bricked unless I manually initiate the anniversary update.

    4) After AU with basic Windows drivers - nothing.

    5) After installing the 372.54 drivers - GPU is recognized porperly, so is the second HDMI output to TV. All the display settings in the NCP and Windows display settings make sense - all resolutions and frequencies are reported correctly. TV still says "no signal". Everything works perfectly on the main display (BenQ BL3200PT), all games run flawlessly.

    6) Tried all the different settings from NCP while the resolution was set to 3840x2160 @60Hz (native) - no signal.

    7) Tried to switch off "HDMI Ultra Deep Color" from TV. TV is now seen to the computer as a 1080p native display and it works, the desktop is seen at the TV. But at 1080p.

    8) Tried to set the resolution to 3840x2160 @60Hz from NCP - no signal. All other also "no signal". Ultra deep color "off".

    9) Switched the ultra deep color setting on again. Everything back as in the beginning - "no signal". Back to square one - things the same as before the reset and the first clean install.

Looks like GreyBear is giving good advice at

    https://forums.geforce.com/default/t...fset=6#4957456

I would probably try a custom resolution through the NCP since you can get HD , just not UHD
    and
Call LG and see what they have to say.....or did you do that already?

To anyone interested - it seems that this thing is over. Check the quoted thread over the Nvidia forums.

See what happens when you don't believe me .....hehehehe *Smile sorry...... it happens new or not....

Aaaaarghhhh! I haven't been that pissed since I was in a fight three years ago!

The f****** brand new, 5 m, 2.0, 20 dollar HDMI was broken out of the box.

I'm writing this comment on a working 4K60 system with a random old HDMI cable my friend borrowed me like 2 years ago.

    This is over, I think.

I'll update this thread later with a short overview so maybe it can be of some use to someone, someday.

Well, it essentially came down to not checking the HDMI cable even if it's brand new.

Respectable effort for solving a problem that wasn't even there, from all sides of the discussion *Smile

A USB problem remains now. If that would go away, then I could say the two-week old computer works 100%.

4K60 signal to TV over HDMI problem

Just pulling your leg ....it is S..... when something is brand new and supposedly worked from the Factory , I have a X99 build I started mid Feb and 6 MB's, 3 CPU's, and two sets of ram later I am still not sure I have a 100% good Computer and I aren't using it as my Daily Driver yet.

Not sure what the USB issue is ( lots on X99 too ) but start another Thread *Smile
