    Problems with printer HP OfficeJet Pro 8710

    I tried to make contact with Alexis N who was trying to help me reconnect my printer, HP OfficeJet Pro 8710, to my computer. All I get is 'error' when in printing que.

    8710 HP PRINTER

    Error message: Driver Unavailable on my HP 8710 printer

    There is no error message as such. If I go to the control panel > Hardware and Sound > Devices and Printers, I see a display of all devices. If I click on the HP 8710 printer, the Status is shown as: Driver is unavailable.

    All of my cartridges are original HP cartridges.

    The printer works fine when selected from my wife's computer.

    I have followed every suggestion given by HP about scrubbing the printer from the system, including the registry and then downloading new software. Each time I do it, I get the same result.
