Windows 10: A dell tech replaced my Notebook Camera and Windows hello Stopped working

gpedit.msc is missing I am told it might help but I need help finding it, downloading and installing it.


when I try to set up win Hello, I can't because the frame that frames my face to snap the picture is pure black. My camera works in other apps but not win hello. I just did a win update and it made it worse. Before you could faintly see my face outline in the black shadows (I tried all kinds of lighting)

Windows Hello cannot turn on a camera on Dell 5368

I have a Dell Inspirion 24-7459 with an Intel RealSense 3D Camera and windows hello used to work, but recently (probably after latest updates) it stopped working. Always says cannot turn on camera. The camera works fine for Camera app.

worse still, under sign-in options on settings, it now says "Windows Hello isn't available on this device."

I would say that it is a supported device, listed on "https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/windows/view-all?type=WindowsHello" and up until recently it worked fine.

of course, it tries to turn on the camera to use windows hello every time I sign in, and takes time to say it cannot turn on the camera. I have to wait for it to fail before I can select another sign in method. What a pain.

I wonder how we can get Microsoft, Dell, and Intel to work together to resolve this?

Camera and Windows Hello not working after notebook wakes from sleep mode

After waking HP notebook from sleep mode the camera does not active. Windows Hello says it's trying to recognize me, but the camera light does not come on. I have to choose alternative way to login, and that works fine. Have Fall Creators Update installed.
Hello works fine when first starting notebook or with a restart.
