  1. A Few Bugs After Optional Update KB4512941

It seems after update KB4512941, I ran in to quite a few bugs. I found people with similar bugs and errors, and some new.

    - My sound went downhill after this update. After Update 1903, it seemed fine, nothing happening. This update however, really messed it up. I saw a lot of people use RealTek on board, while I use Creative Soundblaster Recon 3Di. My set up is a 7.1 speaker set, but I have it set to a 5.1 with side speakers acting as rear speakers. ANYWAYS, after the update, I noticed my sound really low, so I turned it up naturally, and then noticed my 4 rear speakers had no sound comiing out of them. Music, movies, etc. Only thing that worked was when I played games. Otherwise, anything non game, only the front 3 speakers had sound. The only way to "fix" if you will, although I wouldnt call it a fix seeing I have to do it EVERYTIME, is go in to the software, and reset, refresh the sound profile I created. Then when I play music, etc, all speakers are working. but sound very echo-ish. Either way, the update screwed my sound up, and sounds like a lot of others too.

    - It seems after the update, I cant keep System Restore save. After 1903 initial update, it shut off System Restore, so I turned it back on, and created one manually to be safe, because it had deleted all others. Fast forward to updating to KB4512941, now Windows is deleting my System Restores whether I made them or the system made them. I always make sure System Protection is always on, but my Restores keep getting deleted, and its very concerning and annoying to say the least.

    - PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE SHUT OFF MICROSOFT EDGE AT START UP AND AFTER I CLOSE IT. AFTER AN UPDATE IN 1803, EDGE TURNED ITSELF ON, BUT WOULD CLOSE ALL THE WAY WHEN SHUT OFF. NOW, AFTER 1903 AND KB4512941, IT STILL STARTS UP AND AFTER I CLOSE IT, IT DOESNT CLOSE, IT STAYS ON, I ALREADY CHECKED EVRYTHING SO IT HAS NO PERMISSIONS, YET, THERE IT IS, OPEN EVERY TIME. FIX THIS, AND YES, THIS IS ANNOYING THAT I HAVE TO DEAL WITH THIS EVERYDAY, SO I AM CAPITALIZING TO STRESS HOW MUCH THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED.

These are the few I had, there are plenty more, but these I just cant stand any longer. And please, do not respond (Microsoft), with scannow, reboot, clean this or that, disk check, ctl+start etc, clean boot, update, troubleshoot, blah blah NO. I did all these things since KB4512941. I have searched the net, forums, help desks, and no fixes.

    :)

    W10 update KB4512941

    Hi arejfour

KB4512941 is the latest Cumulative update for version 1903 of Windows 10, which was just released yesterday, it should not be optional, it is a standard Cumulative update . . .

Yes, you should apply that update, here is a list of the improvements and fixes in that update:

Windows 10 Search bar bugged after KB4512941 update

In addition to the previous poster - I've described the bug and workarounds since the update was released to Insider Previews.

    Windows 10 V1903: Updates KB4512941 and KB4515530

Windows 10 V1903 Update KB4512941: Workaround for the Cortana high CPU load issue

Windows 10 V1903: High CPU load from Cortana, Search broken, blame August 2019 Updates

But the best solution, if you don't depend on that update: Uninstall kb4512941 and avoid a reinstall (the update is optional, so no
    autoinstall is force).

BTW: I've escalated the bug to Microsoft moderators and asked to forward it to the developers.

  4. A Few Bugs After Optional Update KB4512941

    Cumulative Update KB4512941 Windows 10 v1903 build 18362.329 - Aug. 30 Win Update

The way I finally overcame this snafu about KB4512941 with error 0x800f081f was by doing a repair install using UUPDump .iso for this build. I didn't try to reinstall .NetFramework 3.5 and some other steps suggested in articles found around the web. I considered that to be too much downtime for me.

Now everything seems to be working fine:
