Windows 10: A 'New Folder' Appears on Desktop After Updating to Win 10 Ver 2004

Hi!


I'm using Surface Pro 6.


Few days ago I updated Win 10 to ver 2004 but strangely a 'New folder' folder appeared on my desktop. I'm very sure I didn't create it. I then deleted the folder and restart my surface. The 'New folder' folder re-appeared on the desktop.


Anybody has this issue, please help!

Win 10 ver 1909 versus win 10 ver 2004

What is the differences between Win 10 ver 1909 and ver 2004?

 

Right click desktop > New > Folder...... new folder does not appear.

I am using a Beelink BT3-Pro, 4GB Ram, 64GB Rom.
Win 10 Home ver 1809 build 17763.195

As the title says, I am unable to get a new folder on my desktop. Nothing happens.
Suggestions ?

Win 10 ver 2004: desktop notifications do not appear

I have an HP laptop that just recently was upgraded to Win 10 version 2004. The update was delayed for this machine due to incompatible drivers for some of the hardware.

Since the update I have lost all desktop notifications in the bottom-right corner of the screen and I can't figure out how to get them back. The two biggest desktop notifications I would get are from Outlook when new email arrives and from Chrome when WhatsApp
web would display incoming messages.

I should note that these items still appear in the notification area if I click on the bubble and look through my notifications. That's completely useless to me. I need the desktop notifications back.

I have disabled and re-enabled desktop notifications through Outlook and Chrome. I have also disabled and re-enabled notifications for these programs through Windows settings. All to no avail...

Where did my desktop notifications go and how do I get them back please? I'm beyond frustrated. (Note: a separate desktop PC also just upgraded to version 2004 and it does NOT exhibit the same problem - desktop notifications appear on it just fine).
