    A new type of no password prompt on Win 10! Possibly a malware!


    A few days ago when I wanted to wake my computer up from sleep mode, the win 10 login background with the power and ease of access options in the down right corner came up but no prompt for password. I’m the only user with the admin right. The mouse pointer works. here are the solutions I tried:1.Ctrl alt del doesn’t work even with external keyboard 2.Sartup repair didn’t help3.Uninstall updates didn’t help4. When I try to enter safe mode the same background appear and again no password login prompt so I CAN’T enter safe mode either5. As the last resort I tried the command line and the “ne

    You can reset your password following the next steps:

    • Reboot your computer / Turn your computer on.
    • Hold down the Shift key at the start of the boot process to enable the GNU GRUB boot menu (if it does not show)
    • Press ESC at the GNU GRUB prompt.
    • Press e for edit.
    • Use the Arrow keys to highlight the line that begins with kernel and press the e key.
    • Go to the very end of the line and add rw init=/bin/bash
    • Press Enter and then press b to boot your system.
    • Your system will boot up to a passwordless root shell.
    • Type in passwd yourusername
    • Set your new password.
    • Restart your system.

    • Type certmgr.msc into the Search box

    • If prompted for administrator password, enter the password or provide confirmation
    • Click on Trusted Root Certification Authorities
    • Open Certificates
    • Look for certificates mentioning Superfish Inc, or the above list. --ahhzz
    • Right-click on any Superfish Inc certificates and delete or the above list. --ahhzz
    • Restart your browser and return to this page to see you are safe

    How to reset Win 10 login Password

    Hello Michael,

    Sorry for the inconvenience caused to you.

    Let us try the following steps, and check if it helps.

    Step 1:

    I suggest you to reset the Microsoft account password.

    Refer:

    When you can't sign in to your Microsoft account

    You can't sign in to your Microsoft account

    If the issue persist, follow the below step.

    Step 2:

    Let us try to enable the built in administrator account and try to create a new user account and transfer all the user profile data of the old account.

    Follow the below steps:


    • Press and hold on the Shift Key from the Windows sign in screen and click on Restart.

    • Follow the path Troubleshoot> Advanced Options > Start Up settings.

    • Click on Restart.

    • Choose Enable Safe Mode with
      Command Prompt.

    • At the command prompt, type net user administrator /active:yes, and then press Enter.

    • Type net user administrator <Password>, and then press Enter.
    Note: In this command,
    <Password> represents the actual password that you want to set for the administrator account.


    • Type exit, and then press Enter.

    • Log off the current user account.
    Note: type net user administrator /active:no, to disable the
    Built-in Administrator after adding the Microsoft account.

    Step 3:

    Refer to the below link to create a new Local user account.
