Windows 10: A pop sound occurs every time my laptop needs more power.

So I recently got this 500 bucks hp laptop, and I have noticed from the very first days that a pop sound occurs when, what I would say is the laptop doing a switch in how much power it is using. The sound occurs when opening new tabs, unpausing videos, every time when unpausing the preview while editing, every time when notifications come up, and even when I hover over tools in photoshop. It also seems like it does it randomly sometimes. When I mute the sound, or put earphones on, the pop sound doesn't occur anymore. Adjust Sound Settings: Open the Sound settings on your laptop and check if any enhancements or audio effects are enabled. Disable any audio enhancements or effects and test the audio again to see if the popping sound persists.

Disable Exclusive Mode: Open the Sound settings, go to the Playback tab, select your audio output device, and click on "Properties." In the Properties window, navigate to the "Advanced" tab and uncheck the box that says "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device." Click "Apply" and "OK" to save the changes. Test the audio again to see if the clicking/popping sound still occurs.

Try Different Audio Output: If the issue persists, try connecting headphones or external speakers to your laptop and check if the clicking/popping sound still occurs. This will help determine if the issue is related to the internal speakers or the audio output jack.

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list. *Stick Out Tongue

 

Power plan?

Upon checking, it seems that there's nothing wrong with your system. It is usual that you have to double-click your mouse before your monitor wakes up.

For the meantime, we suggest changing the power plan by following the steps below:

• Press Windows key + S.
• Type in Power Settings.
• On the pop-up window, choose Additional power settings.
• Select High performance.

After changing the power plan, we suggest that you monitor the changes made and check if that will work for you.
