Windows 10: a question for all the MVP's

How does this one happen?


Networking does not work, I have made over 100 threads on it, gotten no where, but okay not listen to this one,


I go to move items, click on networking on the move items list, it does not expand but rather the busy icon appears and it was spinning around and around, usually, I wait a few or click on it again and network expands. This time it does not at all, I wait and wait, nothing. I click and click and nothing.


Here is where it gets great. I have on my desktop the network icon. I have this icon on the desktop since i reinstalled in august, 6 months or so and this icon has been on my desktop since. But somehow, miraculously when I go to it, it is not there on my desktop. After fighting with windows for 5 minutes to find the icon spot in settings (why they choose to bury and hide settings I will ever know) but I find it finally and the network icon is unchecked!


That is my question or questions. How does or did that become uncheck? I bet no one can answer it. Why? Because that is the way windows is and for some reason that is what makes windows great. When we have a OS that we can not store settings on, then there is a issue. I am not just talking about the stupid icon, it is every setting, no matter what it is, windows will undo it. You try to get an answer and people attack you for it, like they have done to me on here so many times. Windows networking does not work at all but i say this and I get told i need training.


I got a call the other day, my friend needed to access pictures over a network but had issues. I set his stuff up so I knew he could network. He screen shared me in teams and he showed me when he opens networking, clicks his other PC, it says can not be found and to diagnosed, I told him to keep clicking it and clicking and he clicked on it 5 times, ran the diagnostics 5 times and finally on the 6th click his other computer icon opened. He stated what? That not right is it? I said yup it is and you speak to microsoft about this networking issue they'll just tell you it does work and you need training. Wow he said.


I have folders set to group by category, sort by type, all tiles. This folder view stayed like this for months and months, even years but just one day, not grouped, not sorted and not icons. I don't get it.
