deepfish--coming soon to a mobile phone near you?

I'd be very surprised if Microsoft make it available on Symbian: I would have thought anything even vaguely flashy would only be on Windows Mobile for the foreseeable future.

Basically, Microsoft want to own the phone O/S market (as well as every other software market) and making things that work on competitor O/S isn't exactly working toward that goal.

Isn't it a bit like Opera Mini? A network service that caches and reformats web sites and then present a modified/optimized version for mobile devices.

Anyway, Nokia doesn't support it, and it is really Microsoft's business to support Nokia or S60 with their browser, and not Nokia's.

Why is this more secure or better than existing Mastercard Secure Code?

Masterpass + Hello = double encryption... but basically it's a business deal to extend MC to the Windows masses...and give MS a selling point.

In the video they just tap the Masterpass icon. How would this be secure if someone was to get access to your device?

Here in Canada, we have debit cards with built in chips that use NFC technology. We just tap our cards on the authorization machine and go. Here's the security of it tho; you can only use it for purchases up to $50 and you will be randomly asked for your pin number. You never know when you will need to know your pin number. If you don't enter your pin number, your tap n go will be disabled. If you lose your card, just report it missing and you will not be responsible for any charges. It also stops people from using credit or debit card skimming technology to steal your card's info, as the card is not swiped by a machine.

i'm assuming you guys up there walk around with lead lined wallets and purses, cause that tech is BEGGING to be scanned by ANYONE walking by you.

This isn't correct. Card details of 'contactless' cards as we call them in the UK can easily be scanned by someone passing by with a sensitive scanner unless you wrap your cards in a Faraday Cage (foil). I've changed any contactless cards I've received to a non-contactless card.

  12. I have simply bought RFID blocking wallet, tested it and it works well, even when the card is partially out.
But then again, I have also bought RFID sticker, which I keep on my keychain, but I have a little cash there.
