Windows 10: About Paths

Greetings. Re: Dell Dimensions E521 with Win 10 Pro O/S My wife worked extensively on her family tree Family Tree Maker over the years and about a year ago, I finally convinced her to start backing up her info and she did, in the form of a SanDisk Cruzer Blade 16gb. So every time she worked on the tree she would put the device in and back up her entries or changes. So, her caution finally paid off , but not yet. Her computer broke down and we had to replace the power supply and ended up having to do a wipe, but retained all the original parts and finally got it back up and run

what exactly do you need to decipher about that path line? also, what are you installing? perhaps i can help.

Yeah, I think you're right. I think the purpose of the echo command was to check if ~/bin was in the $PATH file. My problem is that I can't decipher the output and I don't know how to add ~/bin to the $PATH file.

Just for clarification, the snippet of instructions I gave is just a few steps in the installation process. Nothing is actually supposed to be installed with those steps.

Path Entries with BAT or REG

If you wanted to start thinking about using Powershell, here's a starter for 10:

It looks as though you could simply define $INCLUDE as you wish.


Then there's pathed which appears to support including semicolon separated lists.
