    Absent HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Windows


    Windows 10 Home, installed as a free update over Windows 7.

    When I open the registry,
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Search
    is not present.

    All that exists is
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\COMMS\
    and
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\DM\

    What do I need to do to regain
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Search ?

    How do I go back to Windows 8.1 on Mobile from Windows 10?

    I downloaded the windows phone recovery tool provided in your link. It was incompatible with my windows Surface 2 running Windows RT. I then tried it on my Asus laptop running windows 8. The recovery tool failed upon it's initial download. It gave me
