Windows 10: Access Denied during Apply Image

Discus and support Access Denied during Apply Image in Windows 10 Installation and Upgrade to solve the problem; I have done this many times with no issues except this time.     Access Denied during Apply Image


    I have done this many times with no issues except this time. Ran command prompt Run as Administrator I used DISM Capture Image for one hard drive no problem. Then I used DISM Apply Image using same wim file from DISM Capture Image. It was in process then stopped. Per DISM log, it shows three 'Access is denied'. WimCreateDirectory 3338RestoreDirTree 3606WimApplyImageInternal 777I noticed that it stopped uncompressing the wim to a specific empty folder. C:\Program Files\McAfee\DLP HRESULT-0x8007005 CWinManager::WinProviderMsgLogCallBack.

    winpe apply-image with access denied with error 5

    I have a WinPE bootable USB drive. Using the bootable drive, I can start the system using WinPE, and I made an install.wim file for the Windows partition. Now, I try to apply this install.wim to the system. I follow the tutorial 84331-apply-windows-image-using-dism-instead-clean-install.html.

    My Windows partition is in E: and install.wim is in F:
    I have
    dism /Apply-Image /ImageFile:F:\install.wim /index:1 /ApplyDir:E:\

    I get an error, access denied, error 05. I would appreciate any help, and thank in advance.

    Remote access denied.

    Hi Paul,

    To resolve your concern about remote access denied, follow the steps below:

    • Press the Windows logo+R on your keyboard.
    • Type services.msc on the Run box.
    • Open Remote Desktop Services.
    • Go to the Log On tab.
    • Select This account: Network Service.
    • Click Apply, and then OK.

    Let us know how it goes.

    Access Denied during Apply Image

    LAPTOP is not accessible ..... Access is denied.

    I am trying to share a folder on a LAPTOP. I have other a number of other systems that have folders Shared and they work fine, but with this one I get the error "LAPTOP is not accessible ..... Access is denied." when I try to access it from a different Win10 system. So I went thru the entire "How to Share Files and Folders Over a Network in Windows 10" tutorial step by step. File and Print Sharing is enabled, SMB1.0 client & server are running, and Everyone has Full Access to the Share. Still get the error. I have tried it with the Network Public and Private, with the same result. Any suggestions ?
