As the title says, I accidentally deleted all the microsoft battery drivers. dumb move, i know. i was just trying to solve a "charger plugged in but battery not charging" problem by following some random online tutorial. unfortunately, after deleting the drivers i shut down my laptop and now it wont turn on, with or without battery. but the battery indicator with the lightning bolt sign blinks white everytime i press the power button.

My laptop is an HP Elitebook 8470p , its an i5 and runs windows10

any suggestions/fixes would help for the 12yr old afraid from being scolded for this accident and is typing right now.

    :)

My hp laptop wont turn on

This is a frequent problem am sure as you have already seen from online searches.

Flea power is usually the culprit here, basically its residual power that remains on the computer even after thecomputer has been shutdown. You can drain the flea power with the steps the other answers have suggested.

    • Disconnecting the battery and adapter
    • Press the hardpress the power button for 30 seconds
    • This should clear the flea power

If this doesnt work, read this article its about
    a dell inspiron
but the same applies for you hp. It has some detailed step by step instructions

Plugged in but battery does not charge

If the laptop works without the battery then charger is functioning correctly. Take a cloth with a bit of rubbing alcohol on it (or some on-the-go alcohol swabs), and clean the metal contacts that connect your battery to your laptop.

Make sure to install all Windows important updates.

Install latest versions of your laptop device drivers you can download the latest device drivers from the device manufacturer or from your laptop manufacturer website.

    Step 1

    1. Shutdown your laptop.

    2. Remove the battery.

    3. Connect the AC power adapter to your laptop.

    4. Power on the laptop

    5. Open the Device Manager by typing Devmgmt.msc into Start Menu or from Control Panel.
