Accidentally merged user pictures folder with (G:) drive.

I originally wanted to move the location of the Pictures folder and the Videos folder that comes default with my OS drive (CAccidentally merged user pictures folder with (G:) drive. :) to my larger (GAccidentally merged user pictures folder with (G:) drive. :) drive so I would have more space on the C drive.

The problem was I didn't create a new folder in my G drive when it asked for the new location, I just selected G:/ . So, now I have relocated my G drive to G:/ which is what the pictures and videos folders are now called. The pictures and the videos folder are basically the G drive now and hold everything that was originally in my G drive. When I try to restore those two folders it will restore back to the original C drive location, moving everything else that is in my G drive with it. I want to revert this back, but I remember getting a message saying I couldn't revert something back I believe this is my problem.

TLDR My (GAccidentally merged user pictures folder with (G:) drive. :) drive and default windows "pictures" folder are now the same.

Here are some screenshots and further explanation. Screenshots - Album on Imgur

I've accidentally replaced my User folder with my Pictures folder

    3. In the Reece folder, create a new folder named Pictures. You will now see two Pictures folders, the original one with a pictures icon, the new one as a plain folder.

When I try to follow this step I get asked if I want to merge the folder

    Do I select Yes?

  3. User Folder name shows incorrectly in Explorer after an accidental merge with Desktop folder. How to correct?

While moving the location of my user profile folders (Desktop, Documents, Downloads, Pictures, etc) to a second drive to save space on my SSD boot drive, I accidentally merged the Pictures and Desktop folders together. This was repaired by using the "Restore
Default" option under the Location tab in Properties. However, I then accidentally merged the Desktop folder with my User Profile folder when moving it back to the SSD boot drive (I thought Desktop could stay on that drive afterall). The situation at present
    is the following:

My Desktop folder has been restored to the location

    C:\Users\USERNAME\Desktop

All is functioning as normal, and the folder has been re-identified as a system folder (a lot of forum searching to make that happen).

However, the issue that is still present is that my User Profile folder is incorrectly shown in File Exporer as

    C:\Users\Desktop

even though in the registry and file structure (using cmd prompt etc) it is correctly listed as

    C:\Users\USERNAME

for this folder and all sub-folders.

I have been unable to rectify this issue and would appreciate any help. The computer is fully functional as is, with the only glitch seeming to show in File Explorer. If any clarification is necessary, please ask. Thanks-

Accidentally merged User and Documents folders

    Hello,

I was moving some files around on my hard drive and I accidentally merged my User folder with my Documents folder. So in my C:\User directory instead of seeing C:\Users\MyName I see C:\Users\Documents. Seen below:

I have looked through a few different forums on how to fix my mistake, but I am not 100% sure on how to fix it. I believe that I need to make a change in the registry because the data field for "Personal" is %USERPROFILE% and not %USERPROFILE%\Documents.

Can anyone help me with some steps that I can follow so I can resolve my mistake? I don't want to mess up the registry and hurt my machine. Thanks in advance!
