Windows 10: Accidently trashed BCD and resolution

I started with a dual-boot system:
* Windows 7 Pro
* Windows 8.1 Pro
I upgraded to:
* Windows 7 Pro
* Windows 10 Pro

I used EasyBCD to change the default O/S from Windows 10 to Windows 7.
After that the boot menu was messed up.
* Windows 7
* Windows 7
Then it was
* Windows 7
* Windows 7
* Windows 10

I used EasyBCDs repair option and rebuilt the menu to:
* Windows 7 Pro
* Windows 10 Pro

After I rebooted the computer couldn't find a valid BCD to boot from.

Since I used a Windows 10 Pro 32-bit ISO file to install from I had to use
another computer to burn a Windows 10 Pro 32-bit DVD. I then did the following:

Boot with the Windows 10 Pro 32-bit DVD
Select Troubleshoot
Select Advanced options
Select Command Prompt

I typed the following commands
> bootrec.exe /rebuildbcd
> bootrec.exe /fixmbr
> bootrec.exe /fixboot

After I rebooted computer everything was back to normal.
I used EasyBCD to change the default O/S back to Windows 7 Pro but this time there were no problems.

My question is was there an easier way to fix the problem?

Windows 10 Update KB3213986 Fails Repeatedly with Error Code 0x800F0922; CBS Log Shows Failure of "Boot File Servicing Installer"

Problem solved; the boot sector and/or BCD store was corrupted. Resolution required using BootRec to rebuild the BCD store and fix the boot sector, and BCDBoot to rewrite the BCD file in the EFI partition.

BUG: Hundreds of messages lost after update to OVI Suite 3.1.1.80

By accident I just realized that most of those missing messages were moved to the trash! I could restore them from there. This is nice of course but however - I never deleted them or moved them to the trash so why did Ovi Suite do this? I deleted nearly
600 messages!
