Windows 10: Acer PC won't boot from USB

    Acer PC won't boot from USB


    I attempted to install another operating system onto another partition on my second PC. I've done all the steps correctly, after asking a question from another post.


    When I hit F12 and chose to boot from USB, it just showed a black screen.


    I went ahead to disable secure boot, but the option wasn't there. It wasn't anywhere. I noticed at the top it stated the BIOS was called "CMOS Setup Utility - Copyright (C) 1985-2010". It wasn't the same as the other devices I've tried.


    I also changed the boot configuration, to boot from USB first. That also didn't work.


    Then I thought the USB drive wasn't configured properly (it happened before on another PC). I reinstalled the ISO file into the USB using Rufus and ejected it properly. Still didn't work.


    Any solutions to this problem? Or will I not be able to add another operating system? Is there a way to secure boot anyway?


    PC: Acer Aspire AX3950-UR30P

    Version: Windows 10 Home (Originally Windows 7 Home Premium)

    CPU: Intel Core i3-540

    RAM: 4.00 GB

    My pc won´t boot Windows 10 from USB/DVD

    So I wanted to change from my Windows 10 x32 bits to 64x. I downloaded the Mediacreationtool and used it in both a USB and a DVD. Tried used the usb, the disk and both at the same time but they won´t boot.

    I have a P7H55-M motherboard, the BIOS is updated and configured to boot first DVD, second usb and third SATA.

    So if someone could help me it´d be great.
