Windows 10: Acronis True Image 2017 Explorer.exe Hang

The best way to test an image backup is to restore it on a virtual hard drive as a dual boot option or in a virtual macchine.

Have you checked for info in the Acronis knowledgebase or in their forums? You could also contact their support directly [I did so once and they were very competent].

I enjoy the Acronis sweet. It's the first backup tool I've used, but I was quite frustrated that this happened. Even over on the Acronis forums there are some people complaining about the same problem with no responses from Acronis themselves.

What's even stranger is it happened rather randomly. With it still disabled, all of the Windows Explorer problems have yet to reappear, so, it's not like it was a fluke that one day.

That certainly seems to be the going sensation. I used Macrium Reflect Free many, many years ago. How is their paid version? Did they modernize the interface? That was something I did not like about Macrium.

I'll try this over the weekend and report back.

I thought about that too! However, I couldn't come to pay $20 for the upgrade for features I did not want, asked for, or even need.

I tried the Acronis forum and nobody responded to me. I was hoping that someone here knew a little bit about Acronis or this problem.

Acronis support will not help me because my software is over a year old. *Mad Welcome to the ridiculous selling model of forgetting users who don't want to upgrade every year.
