Windows 10: Activation code 0xC004C003 after changing motherboard.

Hello,

I recently changed my hardware in my computer and reinstalled windows. When I go into troubleshoot to activate windows, explaining to the prompt that I changed my hardware, when I select the device that this computer "replaced" it says it cannot activate windows. The product key is XXXX'd off but I can see the last 5 digits. When I contact support it is always someone who can't speak English and understand my situation and explain to me that they cannot do anything unless I have the product key.


I can't see the product key until its activated... Which I can't do. The key is linked to my Microsoft account and its evident that the computer is registering the presence of a key.


I don't know what to do at this point.


This license was not an OEM license, nor am I changing OS's. Just Windows 10 Pro to Windows 10 Pro with a clean install of windows on a new motherboard.

Re-activating W10 after motherboard change

Hi,

I just changed my motherboard and now my Windows 10 Activation page shows error code 0xC004C003.

This is a Dreamspark 8.1 license upgraded to Windows 10.

Is there any way to re-activate the license?

Windows 10 Activation Error code: 0xC004C003 - I received a "Free" Windows 10 activation offer from Microsoft but after installation I attempted to Activate it and received the error message listed stating the Key Code was "blocked". No other software
changes were made to my system and I see from other responses I'm not alone. I'm particularly frustrated since one of the "solutions" is "buying" a new activation code for $119. Had I known this before "upgrading", the upgrade would never have been done. Sounds
like a deceptive practice to me. Next step - contact the "BBB" or the PA Attorney Generals Office.
