Windows 10: activation error 0x80004005 after 1809 update

i am getting this activation error since i updated to 1809, my windows was activated before the update but now its showing this error.








i ran the activation troubleshooter. it shows this and when i click this upgrade edition button it starts the process restarts the pc. after restarting it notifies that process failed and the error persists. please help dont know what to do.

Error 0x80004005

I have looked over many other posts about this, all with the same error code, but with a different problem.

I have a computer thats a few years old, it has an ABIT kn8-sli motherboard, and its running off windows XP.

I was having problem with the hard drive before I gave up on it awhile back, and now I have come back and resolved that problem, but now when I get to the login screen and type in the password it says its in need of an update, then when it asks me if I want to update I click Yes, and then it says it won't work due to error 0x80004005.

The only operating system I have currently is windows 7. Do I need to go buy a new OS or is this recoverable?
