Windows 10: Activation error 0x803fa067 after hardware change

I have recently changed a motherboard and can't activate Windows 10 Pro now.

It was initially a Windows 7 Home retail copy then I have upgraded it to the Win 10 Home and after a while I've bought a Win 10 Pro upgrade from the Windows Store.

Before the hardware change I had 2 copies of Win 10 Pro on my digital license. I can see them both listed in my Microsoft account.

Activation error 0x803fa067 after hardware upgrade

I recently upgraded my hardware and am trying to reactivate Windows 10 on a new computer. Getting an 0x803fa067 error.

I originally purchased a Windows 8 license online on the old computer, which got upgraded to Windows 10 for free. I got the key to display on the old computer and associated it with my Microsoft account, then tried to activate it on the new computer both
through the Troubleshooter and manually. The error is the same every time.

I ran slmgr.vbs /dlv and took a screenshot as suggested in a similar thread:





This seems to suggest the key is indeed genuine and retail, not OEM - correct me if I'm wrong. What can I do?

 

Activation/Upgrade Error 0x803fa067

I tried to Updgrade my windows 10 Home to Windows 10 Pro.
I tried it with the default key that upgrades Windows 10 to pro without activating it(which is done in the second step).

The Universal-Key for Windows 10 Pro which is published by Microsoft is VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T. I tried that one but I get the error 0x803fa067.

I first tried it with the Windows 10 Settings using the Change Product Key Button in the Activation "Tab" And second with the command slmgr.vbs -ipk VK7JG-...
Both methods werent succesfull.

What the error originally means is: you don't have a digital licence or a valid Product Key.
I guess either the newly bought laptop was delivered with a fraudulent license( then microsoft is bluntly lying to me)





or the error message isn't quite correct. In this case I would go with my second guess

I am not sure why this Problem occures, so my question is: why do I get the Error 0x803fa067?
I am aware of the fact that I could reinstall Windows 10 Pro(which is the way I will probably do it) but I am intrigued to know how I could resolve the Problem without spending those extra 15 minutes.

 

Problems re-activating windows after hardware change.

I've changed motherboard, CPU etc and can't seem to reactivate windows. It works and updates as normal but displays the 'activate this copy of windows' message on desktop and reports error 0x803FA067 when I try and enter my valid product key.

I've tried troubleshooter, creating admin profile, logging in with MS account and all other things that the list and help suggests.

Help!
