Windows 10: Add Create Restore Point Context Menu in Windows 10

This doesn't seem to be working for me. The context menu item gets added, and when I select it, the proper dialogues display the proper messages, but no restore point gets created.

Creating a restore point with description is not always working for some in Windows 10.

If you like, you could use the instant restore point shortcut in step 2 or 3 below instead to create one.

The restore point is created as type: “Application Modified”, should be changed to “System Restore Point”
The restore point is created with the description: “Manual”, preferred description to be entered by administrator when possible.

The command used to create the restore point uses the "MODIFY_SETTINGS" parameter for a "System" type restore point.

You should be seeing this below for the restore point in System Restore.





You might see if using the shortcut in step 4 or 5 below may work better for you to be able to enter a description.

Sorry, tested with "Restore Point Creator".
3 different restore point managers, 3 different results.

 

Amazing how they all show different types despite the command specifying for "System". *Confused

 

And 2 different time-stamps, as I see now.
