  1. Add into English subtitle to an MKV movie

    Hi

i want to add an English subtitle to an MKV movie. Tried MKV toolnix & Handbrake.....from my research it says that they do not re encode, so only takes. Avery short time, but it took an hour or more.
am I doing something wrong, or is there an easier way without ever encoding the video. Maybe if I simply make sure the video and SRT file are the same name and the TV will simply allow the subtitle.

    any help please ?
    thanks

    :)

  2. Movie download-no subtitles...

I was watching a international movie from a legitimate movie website which had english subtitles and it just kept buffering so i downloaded it through payment..but when i played it back using Freesmith player which is my default player...i could not see any english subtitles...could it be the subtitles are overlayed on the bottom black border of the movie and not actually seen within the bottom of movie therefore you cannot download the overlayed subtitles...do you have to download special subtitle packs ?

Cast to device with external subtitle (SUB,SRT)

I came across this thread because I actually wanted to turn my subtitles off, not sure how they got there, I'm assuming it's part of the movie file (.mkv). If I have a movie on my desktop and I cast to my Sony Android TV, it displays subtitles. I don't
need them but there was no option on the cast to device window or the movie file itself to disable the subtitles. But on my TV's remote there's a "Subtitle CC" button that I press and it lists either English or Off on my TV so I can turn them on/off. With
this being said, maybe it's a matter of ensuring the file being cast includes the subtitles opposed to a movie file + subtitle file. Also, make sure the device being casted to is able to decode what's necessary.

  4. Add into English subtitle to an MKV movie

MKV Playback in C6-01 (Enabling subtitle track)

I have updated my phone to the latest stable update of symbian anna. That is not the issue. The issue is enabling softsubbed subtitles in my device (for those of you who don't know, Softsubbing is where you do not burn the subtitles onto the video itself,
but instead attach it as a separate stream. Mkv Containers can have multiple subtitle streams). Also, I am unable to play HD Mkv videos as i only get audio with a logo of a broken video in the display. Any suggestions?
