Hello wbhworld, and welcome to Ten Forums. *Smile

    The tutorial still works for me. If you haven't already, see if restarting the computer after merging the .reg file may help.

    wbhworld,

    Please go ahead and export the two keys below from your registry and upload them. I'll be happy to take a look at them to see if you may have some other registry entry add that could be causing the tutorial to not work for you. *Smile

    Code: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{F5FB2C77-0E2F-4A16-A381-3E560C68BC83} HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace\DelegateFolders
wbhworld,

    I found the problem. The {F5FB2C77-0E2F-4A16-A381-3E560C68BC83} key didn't get deleted from your registry at the location below.

    Try the download from step 2 again being sure to approve all prompts to merge it.

    Code: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace\DelegateFolders
Ok. If you're restoring an image dated before doing step 2, then yeah you'll need to do it again after the image has been restored.

    Otherwise, there's no need.

    In that case, manually go to the location below in your registry, delete the {F5FB2C77-0E2F-4A16-A381-3E560C68BC83} subkey under DelegateFolders, and restart.

    Code: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace\DelegateFolders
Great news. No need to do anything else. *Party

    For some reason the .reg file from step 2 was not being successfully merged, but I'm glad manually doing what was in the .reg file worked for you.

    I removed the following key and it got rid of my double drive problem in explorer/file manager. But in the open/save dialog boxes I still see two drives. Any fix for that too?

    Code: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace\DelegateFolders\{F5FB2C77-0E2F-4A16-A381-3E560C68BC83}
Did you restart the computer afterwards to fully apply?

    Yes, repeatedly. I still have the drive appear twice in the open/save dialogs. can't figure out why. would that be a different reg key then?
